TONI&GUY Cuts for a Cause on #GivingTuesday

On this Giving Tuesday, we’re showing our support for causes that are close to our hearts. Especially after the sale storm that was Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it feels good to use our money to fuel organizations that are doing good work throughout the world to fund research for diseases, feed the hungry or fight for equal rights for all, to name a few. As a company who believes in giving back to our communities and organizations seeking to impact positive change, we appreciate all of the work being done by those in our TONI&GUY family to give a little (or a lot) this Giving Tuesday.

Early this morning, students from our TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy in Dallas donated their time and talents to give back to their community in a meaningful way. The academy partnered with The Source of Hope in Plano to host an event to benefit the local homeless community. The Source of Hope organization provides food, showers, clothing and cosmetic services including haircuts to homeless people in the community.

The Source of Hope’s mission is to empower low income cosmetology students by providing assistance through educational programs, grants and scholarships. On top of this, they strive to provide hope to their community with free or reduced price cosmetic services and various social outreach programs.

At this morning’s event, students showed up bright and early at 6 a.m. to give haircuts to those in attendance.

“It was an emotional event for the students to witness firsthand the impact they can have on people’s lives, even at the student level,” said Dallas Director of Education, Kevin Lentz

For many students, participating in this event brought about a sense of pride to know that they were making a difference in the lives of people less fortunate than themselves.

“It made me feel happy because I was giving back to my community. I felt proud of myself and to see their smiles were brighter when they left from when they came in. It was a good experience,” said student Ana Mora.

Not only were the students making others feel good about themselves, but they left the event feeling positive about the work they had done and the impact they made through their time and generosity.

“It was a really rewarding experience, I feel like as human beings it is our job to take care of one another and it was something I would do again,” said student Isabella Alexander.

Thank you to our Dallas TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy for your hard work and willingness to help your community! We are proud to see you give back for such an important and worthwhile cause. Happy #GivingTuesday!
